Who would have thought that Jess and Mike's shock dumping from Love Island last week would have caused so much drama?

Not long after the pair were voted out by the rest of the villa last Wednesday (June 21), Jess and Mike soon proved that they can keep the nation as hooked on them as they are on the show, after rumours began circulating that the pair had hooked up within a few hours of being eliminated.

The pair appeared on Love Island: Aftersun over the weekend to deny that anything had happened, with Jess even calling the reports "laughable".

"We never went into each other's rooms," she said. "Absolutely nothing happened."

Mike was also on hand to dismiss the reports, telling Caroline Flack and the nation on Aftersun that he and Jess are just friends, but it looks like it'll take more than a statement on TV to convince viewers that nothing happened.

Especially after some eagle-eyed viewers spotted that Jess had kept her hand on Mike's leg when the camera wasn't on them...

And, after a few more days have passed, viewers have just found more and more inconsistencies in the pair's story too.

Like Mike saying he didn't have a phone to text Jess, but Jess saying that she was messaging Mike from her room:

Then there was Mike's on-air claim that he "fell straight to sleep" right after he also claimed that it's been so crazy he hasn't "had much sleep" at all.

And then there was also the so-called 'proof' that Jess turned to Mike and said "let's get f**king drunk" when they were dumped, which doesn't prove much either way but it still has people talking:

So, needless to say, fans aren't completely convinced that nothing happened:

But they've denied it and that's that really. Just spare a thought for poor Dom Lever, who's hearing about these rumours with no context or explanation in the villa, without any way of checking for himself if the rumours are true or not.

"I know I was real. I was true to her and I thought it was special. If she's done what she's done, it clearly wasn't as special to her," he said when he heard the allegations.

"So I've decided rather than worry about it, I will cross the bridge when it comes to it when I get out of here."

Love Island continues tonight (June 27) at 9pm on ITV2.
