Magician who has ‘100% success rate’ making women orgasm with hypnosis says ‘the novelty has worn off’
A magician who says he has a “100% success rate” making women orgasm through hypnosis now keeps his hidden talent under wraps after worrying that it is ruining his love life.
Stephen Simmons, 33, a full-time magician and hypnotist, first started practising erotic hypnosis in 2018 after trying it with his then girlfriend.
But now Stephen, who is based in Southampton, says he is reluctant to tell potential partners about his secret skill after the “novelty has worn off” for him.
Stephen said: “Hypnosis isn’t about shutting off the brain, it’s about putting it into a state of heightened suggestibility.
“I’d always been interested and had been reading up on it for months when my girlfriend at the time asked if I wanted to try it on her. It actually worked the first time with relatively little effort, I thought she was joking when she first went under!
“I started practising hypnotism on her regularly and after a while she asked if there was a way we could incorporate it into the bedroom.”
Stephen said that his former partner claimed his erotic hypnosis would “give her an intense, heightened orgasm”, saying that she “asked me all the time to hypnotise her again”.
He added: “After a while it felt a bit impersonal, and I didn’t really want to do it any more. I’d say our relationship actually suffered long-term as a result.”
Stephen has been working as a professional magician for 15 years.
He said: “I’ve been fascinated with magic from a young age and was really into magic kits as a kid and I stuck with it growing up.
“I do a lot of large corporate events and weddings, both doing up close magic and stage performances.
“I do psychological mind reading and hypnosis, like a mix of Derren Brown and Dynamo.”
He added: “I’m a member of the Magic Circle, which has lots of networking opportunities and chances to chat with other people in the industry and just sort of hone my skills. I’ve also been to quite a few conferences, sort of hypnotic based, neuro linguistic programming based and magic based as well.”
Stephen started introducing hypnosis into his magic routines for work events.
He said: “I’ll get people to forget their name or make their feet stick to the floor. I’ll do mild hallucinations as well, things like making them believe there’s an elephant in the room or that I’m invisible.”
He added: “I specialise in mind reading and hypnosis so I’m always looking for new tricks or routines.
“I had started practising a routine where I made people feel like they were drunk through hypnosis and my partner at the time kind of joked, ‘could you make me orgasm with it?’
“And I said, ‘well, we can give it a go,’ and that’s how it came about.”
To Stephen’s surprise, after a couple of months of trying out bedroom hypnotism, he hypnotised his girlfriend into having a hands-free orgasm.
But he explains that while utilising his gift was fun at first, for him, the novelty wore off quickly.
He said: “The first few times we tried nothing really happened, she told me my voice relaxed her but she had trouble staying focused. The more we practised the more it worked until she could orgasm on command.
“It’s not something that you could necessarily make someone do without their awareness of it. You could use trigger words during the process of hypnosis, and technical anchor points, essentially associating an emotion with or dealing with a certain trigger word and then you use that trigger word to heighten the experience. The more you say it the more in depth it becomes.”
Now single, Stephen says that his hidden talent has caught the eye of many potential partners.
He said: “I was never planning on bringing it up to anyone, but I started seeing someone who was curious about hypnotism, so we put it to the test and it worked perfectly.”
He added: “The people who ask about hypnotism and want to be hypnotised tend to be the ones who are most susceptible to it, so the erotic hypnotism has a 100% success rate so far.
“The word did spread around and there was a bit of gossip about it, a woman I had dated even recommended me to a friend, but I no longer tell people about it.”
Stephen says he is now reluctant to tell women about his skill and keeps it under wraps.
He said: “If it’s something that is brought up in conversation, then I’ll be honest, but it’s not what I lead with.
“The novelty has worn off for me and it’s like bringing work home with you.
“I perform around eight shows a week as a magician and hypnotist, I don’t want to get home and have to perform all over again.”
Although Stephen does admit that some of his friends are envious.
He said: “I have a few friends who know about it and they’ve told me things like, ‘I wish I could do that,’ which is quite funny.
“I didn’t think I’d ever use hypnosis in the bedroom again after the first time so I definitely never expected to have used it as much as I have.”
