Major road cordoned off by police after incident in south London

A major road has been cordoned off by police in Wallington.

Multiple police vehicles were spotted in High Street, Wallington near Belmont Road at around 5pm yesterday (June 28).

A picture, obtained by Your Local Guardian, shows a police car and a police cordon in place.

Wallington High Street was closed as the incident was dealt with but it has since reopened.

The nature of the incident is unknown.

We have contacted the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service for further information.
