Man allegedly 'kicked emergency worker' after arrest over disturbance

A man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences following an incident in Erith yesterday.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance at Willow Road in Erith yesterday evening (May 21) just before 7.45pm.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, and then on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker after he is alleged to have kicked an officer while being detained.

He currently remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 19:44hrs on Tuesday, 21 May to a report of a disturbance at Willow Road, Erith.

“Officers attended and a man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

“He was also arrested for assault on an emergency worker after kicking an officer while being detained.

“He has been taken into custody where he remains.”
