Man arrested after car crashes and lands on top of bin
A 58 year-old man has been arrested following an early morning crash in Prestwick - which saw a car mount a pavement and land on top of a public bin.
Pictures circulated earlier today on social media showing a dark coloured Mercedes-Benz car wedged on top of a public bin in the town’s Main Street.
Ayrshire Live can reveal that an arrest has been made in connection to the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6am on Wednesday, 22 May, 2024 we were called to a single vehicle crash on Main Street, Prestwick.
“Officers attended. The driver, a 58-year-old man, was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
