Man assaulted after three masked thugs storm into property

A man was injured after three people stormed their way into a property and assaulted him, police have said. The victim was left with a cut on his face and sought hospital treatment following the ordeal.

The trio were wearing masks when they entered a home on Weston Road in Lichfield at around 3.20pm on Wednesday, April 24. They then made off towards Dimbles Lane.

Luckily, the man who was assaulted was not seriously hurt. Officers believe that the victim, who is in his 40s, is known to the three men who reportedly attacked him.

Staffordshire Police say that the incident is isolated. A spokesperson for the force added: "We are appealing for information after a man was assaulted by a small group of masked men in Lichfield.

"We got a call at about 3.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 24 April) to Weston Road when three men went inside a home and assaulted the victim. After it happened, all three suspects ran away on Dimbles Lane.

"The victim, a man in his 40s, was not seriously hurt. He went to hospital for treatment after suffering a cut to his face. We have been looking over CCTV footage, speaking to people in the area and carrying out enquiries to find out more about what happened and trace the suspects.

"Officers understand that the victim and the suspects are known to each other. We’re treating this as an isolated incident."
