Man died while driving the car he loved as devastated family pays tribute

Tributes have been paid to a "well-loved" man who died following a three-vehicle crash. Graham Crowley, 75, was driving his cherished rare blue open-top sports car when it collided with a van and another car.

Graham, from Cwmbran, in South Wales, had been a resident of the area for half a century and was described as a "well-known and well-loved part of the town". The crash occurred on Cocker Avenue, near the junction of Henllys Way in Cwmbran, at approximately 6pm on Thursday, June 13, reports WalesOnline.

Officers from Gwent Police attended a report of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles – a blue Caterham Seven, a blue Hyundai Tucson, and a Ford transit van. A force statement said: "The driver of the Caterham Seven, a 75-year-old man from Cwmbran, was pronounced dead at the scene. He can now be named as Graham Crowley; his next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers."

A tribute from his loving family issued via police said: "Graham lived in Cwmbran for nearly 50 years and was a well-known and well-loved part of the town. We are very shocked and saddened by his sudden death but take comfort in the fact that he was in his beloved car when he passed."

Inquiries into the collision are ongoing and police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed it or were using Cocker Avenue and Henllys Way in Cwmbran between 5.45pm and 6.10pm on Thursday to contact them.
