Man dies in crash which closed A52 in Bottesford

A man has died and another has sustained life-threatening injuries following a two-car collision on the A52. The incident occurred just after 10.35pm on Friday, June 28, on the A52 in Bottesford, near the Nottinghamshire border.

The two vehicles, a blue Citroen C4 Picasso and a purple Citroen C3 Picasso, crashed close to the junction with Grantham Road. The driver of the purple Picasso sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the blue Picasso sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. He remains in a stable condition.

Leicestershire Police officers are now appealing to anyone who was travelling along the A52 last night and may have witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand to get in touch. A spokesperson said: "If anyone has dashcam equipment installed in their vehicles, please check the footage and contact us if you captured anything that may assist with the investigation.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 212 Suki Sahota on 101 or via www.leics.police.uk, quoting incident 808 of 28 June."
