A MAN is due to appear in court following an incident involving a crash in Glasgow.

At around 12.30pm this afternoon, officers attempted to stop a car on Maryhill Road.

The car was then abandoned after colliding with a stationary car.

Police searched the area and traced a 27-year-old man who has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, June 17.

He was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Queen Margaret Drive was closed at Maryhill Road following the incident and reopened around 2.10pm.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 1427 of June 14.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.30pm on Friday, June 14, officers on routine patrol attempted to stop a car on Maryhill Road, Glasgow.

"The car was then abandoned after colliding with a stationary car.

"A search of the area was carried out and a 27-year-old man was traced nearby and taken to hospital for treatment.

"He has been arrested and charged with road traffic offences and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, June 17.

"Queen Margaret Drive at Maryhill Road was closed while emergency services were in attendance and re-opened around 2.10pm.

"Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1427 of 14 June, 2024."
