A man is fighting for his life after a serious crash in Crediton. It happened at around 8.40am on Sunday morning (May 12) on Jockey Hill.

One vehicle, a beige Volvo V40, was involved in the crash that saw the driver, a man in his 30s, airlifted to Derriford Hospital. Police say his injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed throughout Sunday morning for investigation works. Devon and Cornwall Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision on Jockey Hill, Crediton on Sunday 12 May. The collision which took place at around 8.40am involved a beige Volvo V40.

"The male driver, in his 30s, was airlifted by Air Ambulance to Derriford Hospital with injuries which are believed to be life-threatening. The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed. Officers are appealing for any witnesses that have not already spoken to police, but who may have seen the collision, or have relevant dash cam footage, to contact police via our website, or by calling 101, quoting log 265 of 12 May."
