Man hit with metal pole after fight near Billericay Tesco

A man was struck with a metal pole after an 'altercation' near an Essex Tesco. Essex Police detectives are investigating the serious assault in Billericay, and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The assault took place in the area of Grange Parade at around 3.20pm on Tuesday, June 11 and involved two men. It was reported that the men had been involved in an altercation at a Tesco store in the area.

A short time later, on a field near the shop, one of the men was struck with an item, believed to be a metal pole, and left with serious injuries. He was taken into hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries, which are not reported to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or for anyone with information, to come forward.”
