Man from Kirkby named in attempted murder charge after stabbing

Three men have been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing.

The attack happened in Abbots Nook, Chester, on Thursday June 6. Officers attended the scene and found a 47-year-old man had suffered serious injuries. Stephen Fletcher, 44, of Bramley Way, Kirkby, Benjamin Coote, 33, of no fixed abode in Chester and Paul Cullen, 49, of St Marks Road, Chester, were arrested following the attack.

All three men have since been charged with attempted murder. Coote was also charged with possession of a bladed article. Fletcher and Coote were remanded in custody and are next due to appear at Chester Crown Court on July 8.
