Man suffers head injury after 'altercation' in Leeds city centre

A man has been left with head injuries after being involved in an ‘altercation’ in Leeds city centre.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Duncan Street at 5.26am on Sunday (June 23) after receiving a report from the ambulance service of an injured male.

Officers attended and found a 41-year-old male with a non-serious head injury. He was taken to hospital for further treatment and the street was taped off by police while enquiries were carried out into the incident.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police has since said that enquiries have established that there was an altercation in the area at around 5.20am on Sunday which involved around six people. It is believed the male suffered injuries in this incident.

The spokesperson continued: “Anyone who may have witnessed this is asked to contact police in Leeds on 101, or by using the livechat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website. The crime reference is 13240336986. Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or online.”
