Manchester United-linked Michael Olise will reportedly join Bayern Munich this summer.

The Crystal Palace winger has previously been linked with a move to United after impressing since arriving at Selhurst Park from Reading in July 2021. The 22-year-old fits the profile of a player that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos are looking to sign as part of a new transfer strategy at Old Trafford.

Chelsea were looking to agree a deal last summer before he opted to stay at the south London club and sign a new contract that contained a release clause. The Blues were interested again this summer but reportedly withdrew because of the finances involved in a potential deal.

And now it is being widely reported that Olise will leave Palace this summer to join Bundesliga giants Bayern. The winger is set to work under former Burnley boss and Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany in Munich.

Palace reportedly launched a final attempt to keep hold of Olise once again, with a new deal put on the table. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, a new and improved contract was made that includes a new release clause.

The winger missed 19 Premier League matches in 2023/24 but was still able to score 10 league goals last term.

Olise was left out of Didier Deschamp's France squad for Euro 2024 this summer, with Les Bleus having an embarrassment of riches in attacking areas. However, he is set to play at this summer's Olympic Games in Paris, which begin in July.

United have been tipped to sign at least one new forward with Erik ten Hag keen to improve his squad in three key areas. Speaking in a press conference last month, the Dutchman said: "We need to get a striker in to work alongside Rasmus Hojlund. I also hope we manage to get another central midfielder and also a replacement for [Raphael] Varane.

"Then I think things will look very good for next season with the caveat that the players are fit and stay fit. Then you can start playing towards the top four with such an 11. That gives me hope and is also realistic in my eyes."
