Manchester United legend David Beckham and loanee Jadon Sancho have sent their congratulations to Jude Bellingham after he won his first La Liga this weekend.

Real Madrid signed the talented English midfielder last summer from Borussia Dortmund and he has since blossomed at the Bernabeu. Bellingham scored his 22nd goal of the season on Saturday as Los Blancos beat Cadiz 3-0 to put themselves on the brink of glory.

Barcelona's defeat to Girona that evening ensured that the title would be returning to the Spanish capital this season. After the news broke, the 20-year-old took to social media to celebrate.

Posting a picture on Instagram with his loved ones, Bellingham wrote: "Campeones de Espana! HALA MADRID!"

Quick to reply was Beckham, who joined Real from United in 2003. He wrote: "Well done mate, campeones."

Another to send his well wishes to Bellingham was Sancho, who played alongside the former Birmingham City man at Dortmund during his first stint at the club. He responded to the post with an arms aloft and love heart emoji. Seeing how well the central midfielder has done for Madrid may leave some at United wondering 'what if'.

As a teenager, the Reds invited Bellingham to Carrington as he pondered his next move away from Birmingham. Despite having a tour and meeting the likes of Bryan Robson and Eric Cantona, Bellingham chose to make the switch to the Bundesliga to further his career.

Now 20, Bellingham is expected to play a key role for England in the European Championships this summer.
