England will face their biggest test of the Euro 2024 group stage against Denmark.

The Three Lions only need a point to stand a strong chance of progressing to the knockout stages after securing a nervy 1-0 opening win against Serbia. Manager Gareth Southgate will be well aware that it was far from a standout performance, with his team losing control and creating few opportunities in the second half.

Denmark, managed by Kasper Hjulmand, suffered their own disappointing result following a 1-1 draw with Slovenia, though past clashes with England have shown they still pose a great threat with the abundance of top talent they possess. And MEN has pinpointed five dangermen who England must identify and keep tabs on - including two Manchester United stars.

Rasmus Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund finished his first season at Old Trafford with 16 goals across all competitions. That included an impressive five in six matches in the Champions League - yet the 21-year-old's form for his country is even more eye-catching.

With seven goals in eight Euro 2024 qualifying matches, he is undoubtedly Denmark's star striker - and he almost scored another against Slovenia but for an excellent save by Jan Oblak. England centre-backs John Stones and Marc Guehi will need to manage his pace on the counter, and handle his darting runs into the six-yard box.

Andreas Christensen

At the opposite end of the pitch is Andreas Christensen, well known to English football fans from his time at Chelsea. Christensen’s duel with Harry Kane promises to be fascinating - but his influence in the opposition box should not be underestimated.

The central defender scored crucial headers for Barcelona last season in El Clasico and against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals, with his very first touch of the ball. England must stay alert to his movement during set pieces.

Christian Eriksen

Providing Christensen and his Red Devils team-mate Hojlund with pinpoint crosses will be Christian Eriksen, who enjoyed a dream start to the Euros by scoring a stunning volley in their opener, 1,100 days after suffering a cardiac arrest at the 2021 edition of the tournament. The United midfielder has been Denmark's talisman for over a decade, as shown by his two man of the match performances in qualifying.

The 32-year-old was instrumental in creating chances against Slovenia, causing havoc with his corners and free-kicks, but is equally skilled at breaking down defences from open play. England will need to contain him if they are to nullify Denmark’s threat, with Declan Rice set for a busy evening.

Pierre-Emile Hojberg

Denmark's midfield is marshalled by Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojberg. The veteran‘s role will be crucial in the midfield contest which could determine the outcome of the game - and his two goals in qualifying showed he can also deliver big moments.

England's midfield was outplayed in the second half against Serbia, and there's a real risk of being overrun by Denmark. The Danes dominated possession (68%) with an impressive 88% pass accuracy against Slovenia, and boasted the fourth highest possession in Euros qualifying (64%).

Jonas Wind

Denmark will chase a victory after dropping two points to a late Slovenia equaliser on Sunday. The Danes had taken the lead after just 17 minutes of play thanks to a masterful flick from Jonas Wind to set-up Eriksen.

The Wolfsburg forward could prove a handful for England’s defenders, having notched 11 goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga last season. Only Bukayo Saka and Harry Kane have netted more for England than the eight he has scored for Denmark.
