Manchester attack: Shocking video shows moment blast hit arena
A shocking video taken from inside Manchester Arena shows the moment a bomb went off, killing 22 people. The attacker was killed as he set off the device.
The footage, taken by Ellie Cheetham who was at the concert, shows crowds at the music event as people leave, before a loud bang can be heard, followed by a chorus of screams.
A voice can then be heard saying: ‘What’s going on? What’s happened?’
The explosion at the end of the sold-out Ariana Grande concert killed 22 people, including children, and injured 59 other.
The arena is the centre of Manchester next to the city’s main train station.
Victims are being treated in eight hospitals across Manchester.
Police say a lone attacker carrying and improvised explosive device was responsible.
Further footage shows police outside the arena, and witnesses described the ‘carnage’ in the wake of the explosion.
Theresa May has condemned the atrocity as an ‘appalling terror attack’, and all General Election has been suspended.
