Manchester Christie hospital fire: Building evacuated after huge blaze breaks out
A hospital building was evacuated in Manchester after a huge fire broke out in one of its buildings.
A huge plume of smoke was seen towering from the Christie hospital, where five fire engines have been sent to tackle to blaze.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue were called to the blaze at about 10.30am and have been battling the fire this morning.
The fire is thought to be coming from the research centre next to the main hospital building

Residents in the area were advised to keep their door and windows shut as smoke billowed into the sky.
