Martin Lewis warns 'millions' of homes in England face 'kick in the teeth' bill

Martin Lewis has issued a mobile and broadband warning - saying it is "kick in the teeth". The BBC Sounds podcast host has warned over price hikes for millions, which kicked in this month in a brutal Cost of Living blow for households up and down the country.

In his latest Money Saving Expert newsletter, BBC Sounds podcast host Martin warned: "Millions of homes have just had a kick in the teeth, as broadband & mobile providers increased bills by above inflation, typically 8%, even for those mid-contract, at the start of this month.

"Yet that does mean this is a great time to check if you're overpaying, as comparing now is a completely level playing field, giving a true comparison as you know there shouldn't be any price rises for a year." He went on to add: "This isn't small potatoes."

ITV regular Mr Lewis went on to say: "TSBear tweeted me about savings of £660 a year in January. They wrote: "I managed to get my phone bill down from £52 a month to Sim-only for £9. Plus my fibre broadband from £32 a month to £20. Well happy."

Mr Lewis said: "And with 20m of you OUT OF CONTRACT and thus free to move, this is a no-brainer for many and only takes a few minutes. Below the team and I take you through top deals, first on mobiles, then broadband, and then, for those who don't want to switch, how to haggle..."

If you are out of contract, MSE says it's "easy to ditch, switch and save". "While existing customers have seen big hikes in mobile costs, prices for switchers continue to plummet. So it really is very easy to stop getting ripped off...," the MSE newsletter warned subscribers.
