We're not sure if it was the Brexit special of Question Time on BBC One at the same time, or people just getting bored, but tonight's (March 27) episode of Mary Berry Everyday didn't cause an outrage on Twitter.

Previous weeks have seen the British public lose their shit over the smallest of things: Mary's 'controversial' spaghetti bolognese recipe caused mass outbreaks of dramatic fainting, her confessing to have never ordered a takeaway pizza led to debates in Parliament, while people rioted in the streets over whether her pie was really a pie, or a casserole with a lid.

This week saw Mary try her hand at milking a goat, and not a single person tweeted about it being an X-rated pre-watershed moment.

We used the term 'try' here because the first goat wouldn't stay still for our poor host. Maybe it had seen the last couple of episodes and thought 'f**k this, I'm out'.

This moment did lead to a couple amusing tweets about Mary having the goat killed off-screen but DON'T PANIC THEY ARE ONLY JOKES!

What did happen was that a different goat was brought on, Mary made some wonderful goat's cheese, said the word 'scrumptious' a few times and we cut to the credits.

Mary Berry Everyday continues next Monday (April 3) at 8.30pm. Hopefully it will be as tame and quaint as tonight's episode.

Or, who knows, maybe she'll start sacrificing newborn babies to the White Walkers. Gotta top that trending topics list.
