Massive Fire Hits Spain's Famed Donana National Park

A fire was continuing to destroy parts of Spain’s Donana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on June 26.

Local reports said the fire began on Sunday, June 25, in AN area known as La Penuela de Moguer, and continued to spread through June 26. The video shows the fire affecting large parts of the site.

According to its website, Donana is considered one of the most important protected natural areas of Europe. The site also says it’s an important location for bird migration routes between Africa and Europe and home to many endangered species, including the Spanish imperial eagle and Iberian lynx.
