A former MasterChef contestant has followed her dreams to open a new taqueria in Suffolk.

Hannah Gregory reached the quarter finals of the BBC cooking competition in 2020 before being approached by the landlord to open a new food hub behind The Beerhouse in Tayfen Road, Bury St Edmunds.

The chef said: "It is a long time planning in the sense that it has always been a dream. It has kind of been in the back of my head."

After raising more than £26,000 in a Kickstarter, Ms Gregory transformed the former Pizza Shed into Tacor which opened on Thursday, June 27.

Customers can enjoy food inside the restaurant, which has 16 seats, or take their food in The Beerhouse as long as a drink from the pub is purchased.

The current menu for July includes three types of taco: the Land made with marinated pork shoulder, the Sea made with coconut prawns, and the Plant made with sweet potato.

Tacor is open Thursdays and Fridays from 5.30pm to 9pm and Saturdays from 12.30pm until 9pm.
