Megan McKenna opens up about body dysmorphia battle as she reveals regret over lip fillers

Megan McKenna revealed that she suffered from body dysmorphia at the time she had lip fillers.

The former TOWIE star appeared on Lorraine to talk about her impending appearance on The X Factor: Celebrity live shows.

Addressing how much she has changed from her reality TV days, McKenna told stand-in host Christine Lampard: “Honestly, I look back at myself and think, 'Oh, my God, what was I thinking?'

"I honestly think I had a massive dose of body dysmorphia. What I would like to say to my younger self is, 'You really need to accept the way you look.'

"I know all this Instagram thing, looking online and wanting to look like other people, I was doing that massively. You lose yourself a bit. I feel I looked awful. My mum used to say to me every morning, 'Megan, your lips, they're so big...'," she added.

Mckenna also revealed how her decision to have lip fillers impacted her bid to launch her music career.

During the interview, the TV star turned singer revealed that she has always wanted to be a singer.

“Hopefully this can be my crossover point, where people stop thinking of me as a reality star and start thinking of me as a musician,” she said of her place on The X Factor: Celebrity where the winner will win a recording contract.

"I want people to see that I'm not just about reality TV - music is what I've always wanted to do.”

Meanwhile, Vinnie Jones has revealed that he will pay tribute to his late wife Tanya when he takes to the stage to perform in front of a live audience.
