Meghan Markle's sister Samantha 'confirms' Celebrity Big Brother appearance: 'Life is about cashing in'

The Duchess of Sussex’s sister Samantha Markle has appeared to confirm her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

Markle has been heavily rumoured to be packing up and moving into the Elstree house, but has remained silent on the speculation until now.

In an interview with Inside Edition, the TV personality appeared to respond with “why not?” when asked about “why she would do something like that”.

She told the broadcaster: "Life is about cashing in. You take opportunities as they arise and hopefully you enjoy the ride and make it as positive as you can.

“There's nothing wrong with it.”

She added: “The purpose of that show would not be to discuss [Meghan].”

The Good Morning Britain and Loose Women guest has been hotly tipped for the show by bookmakers, who have given her odds of 1/9 to star on the show.

Earlier this week, Channel 5 confirmed that the new series will feature famous faces who have been “caught up in a media storm” .

The theme, which was revealed along with the new eye, also states that contestants all have “a lot to prove”.

​Markle is one of several names being bandied about, including Katie Price’s estranged husband Kieran Hayler and Stormy Daniels.

Celebrity Big Brother will return to Channel 5 next month, with reports suggesting August 17 .
