Update 16/01/20: Meghan Markle Made Another Surprise Visit In Canada After Stepping Back From The Royal Family

A day after the Duchess of Sussex was pictured for the first time since she and Prince Harry announced they would be stepping back from the royal family, another photo of the xx year old has surfaced.

Since the news broke on the Sussexes' plans to become 'financially independent' from the royal family, Meghan has been in Canada. The first picture showed she visited a women's centre in Vancouver and on Wednesday another charity in the city shared a photo revealing the Duchess visited them too.

Meghan popped into the Justice For Girls organisation to discuss 'climate justice for girls and the rights of Indigenous people', the group said on Twitter, sharing pictures of Meghan enjoying a cup of tea with the group and posing with them.

According to the organisation, the group also discussed a holistic approach to social justice and the power of young women in leadership.

Whether Meghan is stepping back from the royal family or not, it's clear her charity work remains a priority.

Original Story: Meghan Markle Pictured For First Time Since Stepping Back From Royal Family

Meghan Markle has been pictured for the first time since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would be stepping back as senior royals.

After the couple made their announcement one week ago, the Duchess flew back to Canada to be reunited with her son Archie, who reportedly stayed in the country with a Nanny and Meghan's best friend Jessica Mulroney.

Now, the Duchess has been photographed for the first time since the news, after she visited a women's shelter in Vancouver.

On Tuesday, the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre - which provides care and meets the basic needs of women and children in the area and operates an emergency night shelter - shared a picture of volunteers with Meghan in the middle, wrapped in a cream jumper and black jeans, on Facebook.

'Look who we had tea with today!' the post said. 'The Duchess of Sussex visited us today to discuss issues affecting women in the community.'

Later in the day, the Daily Mail posted paparazzi photos showing Meghan boarding a sea plane in the snow.

While Meghan is in Canada, Prince Harry is still in the UK and attended a meeting at Sandringham with Prince William, Prince Charles and the Queen to discuss the Sussexes roles going forward.

Last week, the couple said they hope to make a transition to become 'financially independent' from the monarchy and intend to divide their time between the UK and North America.

Following the meeting this week, dubbed the Sandringham Summit by the press, Queen Elizabeth released a statement on the 'constructive' discussions that took place among the senior royals.

'My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan's desire to create a new life as a young family,' the statement began. 'Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.'

The Queen explained how, while details are ironed out, there will be a 'period of transition' where the Sussexes will spend time in both Canada and the UK.
