Fashion's biggest night is just hours away with the 2024 Met Gala taking place Monday, May 6. It's a celebration of the Costume Institute’s new exhibit, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met).
From Rihanna to Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian, fashion and celebrity lovers alike will watch the stars walk the red carpet. Hosted by Anna Wintour, we're hoping to see a lot of unique and imaginative looks throughout the night.

Met Gala 2024 theme
The theme for this year's Met Gala is "The Garden of Time." It's inspired by the 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard of the same name.
The story is about Count Axel and his wife who live in a luxurious villa with lush gardens. But when Axel sees a mob of people advancing, he has to cut each flower to move time backwards, and keep the mob away. But there is a finite number of flowers, with no new flowers growing, leading to the estate eventually being barren.

The 2024 Met Gala red carpet will begin around 5:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT.
Where to watch the Met Gala red carpet on TV with cable
The E! channel will have Met Gala coverage, including red carpet interviews, beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT. TV host Ross Mathews will be interviewing stars and coverage is expected to last until 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT.

News' Erin Lim Rhodes with special guest, YouTuber Haley Kalil, will run for one hour, beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT. You can watch the red carpet on E! Online, the YouTube channels for E! Vogue's Met Gala red carpet coverage will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT, hosted by Gwendoline Christie, La La Anthony, and Ashley Graham, with Emma Chamberlain interviewing celebrities.

Who is attending the Met Gala 2024
Acting as co-chairs of the event are Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny. Rihanna has also confirmed her attendance.
Page Six reported that Lily Gladstone, Ayo Edebiri, Gisele Bündchen, Olivia Rodrigo, Uma Thurman, Sarah Paulson, Cara Delevingne are also expected to be in attendance.
Honorary chairs for the evening are Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Chew.
