Met Office Nottingham weather forecast predicts heatwave with temperatures to hit 22C

Nottingham is expected to reach temperatures of a balmy 22C this week as the UK continues enjoying the hottest temperatures of the year so far. Many in the city and across the county will have enjoyed warm, sunny weekend weather, and this is set to continue from Tuesday, May 7 and throughout the week.

The Met Office says the temperatures hovering around the 20C mark before reaching as high as 22C on Friday and Saturday. On Tuesday, May 7, the mercury is expected to hit 17C with conditions to remain mostly cloudy with spells of sunshine.

"Rather cloudy but bright and dry in the afternoon," says the Met Office's East Midlands outlook. It continues for Wednesday: "Any early mist, fog and low cloud will burn back to the coast leaving a fine, dry day with long spells of sunshine and mostly light winds.

"Maximum temperature 21 °C." For Thursday to Saturday, it continues: "A good deal of fine and dry weather, with variable cloud and sunny spells throughout.

"Some mist and fog patches each morning. Warm away from the coast."
