Harry Potter star Michael Gambon is being sued for allegedly running over a cyclist’s foot with his Land Rover in west London.

The 80-year-old actor faces a £55,000 lawsuit from solicitor Toby Clouston over the alleged incident in April 2017.

Clouston, 39, claims he suffered a broken ankle, ligament damage and permanent mental anxiety after Gambon allegedly hit him and failed to notice outside the Dumbledore actor’s home in Shepherd’s Bush.

In papers lodged with Central London county court, first published by The Sun, Clouston’s lawyer Tom Collins said: “The Land Rover which was being driven by Sir Michael Gambon drove into Mr Clouston, running over his right foot.

“As a result he fell to his left with the bicycle between his legs and into a parked car. Sir Michael continued to proceed along the road until Mr Clouston managed to attract his attention.”

The papers also claim that there had been an “admission of liability” on behalf of Gambon by his insurers, but that the insurers do not accept Clouston’s account.

They may call on their own medical experts to check his claims that he has difficulty standing and exercising.
