Michael McConville: Man charged with murder of 74-year-old

A man has tonight been charged with the murder of 74-year-old Michael McConville.

The body of Mr McConville was discovered in the bathroom of a house in the Annaghmore Road area of Crossmaglen in Co Armagh on Saturday.

Mr McConville was allegedly found in the house with serious head injuries, according to the PSNI.

Late on Wednesday June 19 a statement from the PSNI said: "Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team, investigating the murder of 74-year-old Michael McConville in the Annaghmare Road area of Crossmaglen on Saturday evening, 15th June, have charged a 67-year-old man with murder.

The man is expected to appear before Banbridge Magistrates Court sitting in Newry tomorrow, Thursday 20th June. As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
