It seems being the victim of a violent robbery isn’t enough to stop comedian Michael McIntyre in his tracks, as he was spotted out and about sporting a new Rolex, after having his £15,000 watch stolen by moped thieves.
The comedian, 42, was picking sons Lucas, 13, and Oscar, 10, up from school in London, when masked moped thieves sped up to his Range Rover and smashed in the driver’s window to steal his watch.
During the scuffle, McIntyre reportedly fell from his car as he fended off the criminals but wife Kitty later reported that the star was ‘fine’.
Just days later, the funny man has been seen wearing what appears to be a brand new watch to replace the stolen one.
He returned to the comedy stage this week – just two days after the ordeal – to perform in Dublin, Ireland.
‘It’s great to be here,’ he said to the Irish audience. ‘In fact I’m moving here, f*ck London!’ he joked to them. ‘It hasn’t been a great week. But I’m ok, we’re ok.’
He also quipped about ‘losing’ his expensive watch: ‘They say time is the healer. I have lost my watch, how is time going to heal? I have no idea what time it is.’
‘Drama is all over and now it’s back to work. Have a great day,’ he said to press outside his London home, as he appeared to be escorted by a bodyguard as he was on his way to the Dublin-based gig.
McIntyre is one of Britain’s most well-known comedians and is currently embarking on his Big World Tour.
In 2009, the then unknown comedian shot to fame after the success of his BBC television show Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and has been a household name ever since.
