Miley Cyrus is no stranger to provoking strong reactions, and she did just that when she posed for a photo with her hand down new boyfriend Cody Simpson’s trousers on social media recently.
In a selfie shared by Simpson on his Instagram account, the Don’t Call Me Angel singer looked as loved-up as ever as she nuzzled into the Australian musician’s shoulder with her hand tucked into his trouser front. Later, Cyrus commented on the snap: “Need. Oxygen. Can’t. Breathe. I. Stan. For. Ever. Ship.”
“Death do us,” Simpson wrote back.
The pair were seemingly showing off their new ‘matching’ ink, with Simpson sporting a skull and crossbones tattoo and Cyrus getting a realistic-looking heart, with a bleeding dagger passing through it and a banner that reads, ‘Rock N Roll heart.’
The former’s was a nod to 1973 crime drama Papillon, while celebrity tattoo artist Nico Bassill took inspiration from Billy Idol for Cyrus’s design.
Fans were shocked to see the couple in such an intimate setting and took to the comments section to share their surprise.
"MILEY WTF UR HAND,” a particularly stunned follower replied. “It’s not even 9AM!!!,” one more exclaimed.
“Excuse me what,” another wrote, as a fourth said: “You Hollywood folk sure get through s*** partners quickly.”
“Cody your mother follows you,” a fifth lectured. Elsewhere, another joked: "Your girlfriend's got her hands full 😍🔥."
“Holy chill out. We get it you don’t have to pee on him to claim your turf girl,” another added.
Simpson and Cyrus have been romantically linked since they were spotted eating sushi together earlier this month. Their relationship comes after the latter’s six-week fling with Kaitlynn Carter following her separation from former husband Liam Hemsworth.
Simpson, 22, seemed to confirm to People that he’s dating the Wrecking Ball hitmaker at the Tiffany & Co. Mens Launch in Los Angeles last week, saying: “I’m very happy. We are very, very happy. She’s creative. She’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense. That’s why we get along so well.”
