The Isle of Wight's Military Road (A3055) has been closed this evening (Monday, June 24) while multiple emergency teams respond to a two-vehicle crash.

The collision happened near Freshwater Bay Golf Club, overlooking Freshwater Bay, involving a Citroen Nemo and a motorcycle.

The route has been blocked by Afton Road and Gate Lane, opposite the long stay car park, at the Freshwater Bay end of Military Road.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the road, traffic is being stopped at the Compton Beach car park at Hanover Point.

Motorists are being diverted onto The Middle Road (B3399).

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have been contacted for a statement.
