Mindhunter season 2 release date announced by David Fincher
Mindhunter fans – the wait is over.
David Fincher has confirmed that the second season of his crime drama will be available to stream on Netflix from next month – specifically, 16 August.
The first series debuted on the streaming service in October 2017. Anna Torv stars in the series alongside Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany who play FBI agents inspired by real-life criminal profilers.
While it’s been known for some time the new episodes will focus on the Atlanta Child Murders, this arc has now been described as “a huge, sweeping, tragic story”.
In terms of other serial killers that will feature in the second season, it’s now been confirmed that Son of Sam, Charles Manson and Wayne Williams will all appear as characters.
Son of Sam – real name David Richard Berkowitz – pleaded guilty to eight separate shooting attacks that began in New York City during the summer of 1976.
Manson will be played in the series by Damon Herriman, the actor who plays the same role in new Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.
The show earned rave reviews upon release with viewers heaping praise upon Cameron Britton for his portrayal of the murderer and necrophiliac Edmund Kemper.
