Miraculous escape for homeowners after BUS crashes into their house

Two people escaped with nothing more than minor injuries after a single-decker bus ploughed into their house while they were inside.

The vehicle lost control on the road and crashed into the property in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on Saturday afternoon.

The bus driver and some passengers suffered minor injuries, with one being admitted to hospital, according to Thames Valley Police.

A police spokesman said: “Fortunately the two occupants of the property were able to leave the property with only minor injuries.”

A structural engineer and contractors were working with a recovery team on Sunday to try to remove the bus, which was left embedded in the front of the house.

No arrests have been made but police have appealed for people with information to come forward as they said it was lucky no-one sustained serious injury.

Traffic officer Sergeant Tom Smith, of Thames Valley Police, said: “It was very fortunate that people weren’t seriously injured in this collision.

“We are now investigating the circumstances which led to this crash and would ask that anyone who was on the Wycombe Road yesterday just before 2.20pm and witnessed the incident or the bus driving just before the collision to call us as a matter of urgency on 101.”
