Mischievous Monkey Rips Up Bali Tourist's Passport

A tourist in Bali was seen fruitlessly bargained to retrieve her passport from a thieving monkey, before the mischievous primate tore it apart in front of her.

Noemi Rojas Rangel, who captured the moment, said the monkey had snuck up behind the tourist while she was distracted and had her bag open.

“She tried to exchange the paper for the passport but it didn’t work,” Rangel said.

The tourist and her companion then appealed for food to offer the monkey, Rangel said, “but no one had [any].”

Eventually, they got the passport back after the monkey was offered water. The document, however, was “just destroyed,” Rangel said. Credit: Noemi Rojas Rangel via Storyful
