Speaking to Fabulous, the former Saturdays singer said: "It's something we've wanted for a really long time. I wouldn't say I've always been broody, but I have always wanted a family. It's been about the right person and the right time."
She added: "I have five nephews and I absolutely love looking after them, which is what made me feel this is what I want. We're feeling incredibly lucky. I know Stuart's going to be such a good dad – he's so excited."
King also said she and Broad know their child's gender and have already decided on a name for their baby.

King has been experiencing plenty of food cravings during her pregnancy and confessed to needing pizza, garlic bread and jacket potatoes.
Meanwhile, Broad has ruled himself out of touring Pakistan this winter to stay at home with his newborn baby.
King and Broad originally met in 2012 through mutual friends but did not start dating until six years later.
Broad later proposed to King on New Year's Day 2021 during a walk through Richmond Park with the singer later posting on social media: "A thousand times yes! I still can't believe it, the most magical start to the new year! I can't wait to spend all my years with you!"
After The Saturdays split in 2014, King later started a career in broadcasting and guest presented This Morning before appearing on Strictly Come Dancing.
She joined Radio 1 in 2018 co-hosting a show with Matt Edmondson.
