Mariah Carey to Deliver First Awards Show Performance of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards

Mariah Carey is bringing the holiday spirit to the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.

The superstar singer, known as the Queen of Christmas, will deliver the first ever awards show performance of her hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” during the BBMAs.

Carey, who is currently on her Merry Christmas One and All tour, will also be honored with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for her chart-topping holiday song.

Carey’s performance will be creative directed by Debbie Allen and will be both “Aspen-inspired” and “surprise-filled,” the BBMAs teased.

Carey joins fellow performers Tate McRae, Morgan Wallen, David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, Karol G, Stray Kids, NewJeans and Peso Pluma.

Wallen, who is up for 16 awards after landing 17 entries as a finalist this year in a tie with SZA for the second most nods of any artist this year, will perform “98 Braves” with an audience featuring members of the 1998 Atlanta MLB team at the Braves’ current home of Truist Park in Atlanta.

Wallen’s performance comes in the middle of his sold-out U.S. tour. The 2023 Billboard Music Awards is forgoing a traditional network broadcast for a digital awards show that will feature performances and winner celebrations from around the globe, including artists’ tour stops as well as other custom venues.

Wallen, the leading male finalist this year, is up for two awards for his album One Thing At a Time and his song “Last Night” is up for three awards, including top Hot 100 song.

McRae, a BBMA finalist for top dance/electronic song for the Tiësto-led “10:35,” will perform her chart-topping single “greedy” from her album THINK LATER, out Dec. 8.

Performances and awards as part of the BBMAs will roll out across the BBMA and Billboard social channels on Sunday, Nov. 19 beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The Billboard Music Awards are presented by Dick Clark Productions. DCP is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.
