Months after cancelling several US tour dates due to "physical exhaustion", former Smiths' frontman, Morrissey has revealed his return to the performance stage.

He announced he'll be performing two concerts in Las Vegas on July 26 and 27 at the House of Blues, despite the "despite recent fiascoes".

"Having hung upside down for several months, I am now in good health like an arrow fully drawn and waiting to be fired: please fling me," the singer stated via Instagram. This statement follows his withdrawal from various US performances in late January due to required "medical supervision for physical exhaustion" that required a two-week period of rest.

Talking about his upcoming Las Vegas events, Morrissey posted on Instagram: "Life begins again with full accompaniment from Jesse Tobias (guitar), Carmen Vandenberg (guitar), Camila Grey (keyboards), Solomon Walker (bass), and Matthew Walker (drums.)".

In a further colourful comment, he added: "Expect a night of thrust and parry no-show tunes. If you can find a decent pair of shoes, by all means come along. There is nothing quite like physical proximity, I am assured."

The famous artist, whose full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey, formed part of The Smiths' original line-up alongside guitarist Johnny Marr, drummer Mike Joyce and bassist Andy Rourke, reports Wales Online.

Rourke sadly passed away last year at the age of 59, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. The influential English band, known for their 1980s hits such as Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, This Charming Man and There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, was powered by the songwriting partnership of Marr and Morrissey.

The Manchester-based band, which split in 1987, released albums including The Smiths and Meat Is Murder and achieved three top 10 hits. The breakup of the four-piece was one of the most dramatic in UK music history, leading to a court case over royalties between Joyce and Rourke against Morrissey and Marr in 1989.

After the band's split, Morrissey embarked on a successful solo career, producing hit albums including number ones Viva Hate, Vauxhall And I and Ringleader Of The Tormentors.
