Moston stabbing: Man fights for life following horror attack

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing in north Manchester.

Emergency crews raced to the scene of the incident on Ainsbrook Avenue at around 4.50am this morning (July 2). Police said officers responded to reports of a stabbing.

The victim - a man aged in his 20s - was rushed to hospital from the scene. He remains there in a life-threatening condition, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said.

No arrests have been made yet and an investigation is underway. This morning, a private car park for some flats on Ainsbrook Avenue has been taped off by police.

Forensic officers are on the scene carrying out investigations with the cordon. A blue forensic had been erected earlier, but has since been taken down by officers.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 4.50am this morning (Tuesday 2 July 2024), we were called to reports of a stabbing on Ainsbrook Avenue in Charlestown, Manchester. A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in life-threatening condition.

"No arrests have been made at this stage. Investigations are ongoing."
