The Holburne Museum in Bath will host the first-ever UK museum exhibition of the internationally acclaimed artist and viral sensation, Mr Doodle. Visitors will be treated to a unique journey through Mr Doodle's personal sketchbooks that date back to his teenage years, which serve as the foundation for an immersive exhibition that will take over the gallery space, sprawling across walls, floors, and even the ceiling.

Sam Cox, better known as Mr Doodle, expressed his artistic vision, stating: "My intention has always been to create a universal doodle language that can relate to and attract people from all over the world."

Renowned for his distinctive style featuring black ink against stark white backgrounds, Mr Doodle's creations are a whimsical universe filled with playful characters and imaginative forms, crafted using ink pens and spray paint in what he terms "graffiti spaghetti".

Since gaining attention in the art scene in 2015, Mr Doodle's popularity has skyrocketed, leading to an exponential growth in interest for his artwork.

As a pioneer of a fresh artistic movement, Mr Doodle has captivated the digital art community, amassing a significant following on social media platforms and sparking conversations about the evolving definitions of fine art.

The narrative of 'DoodleLand' is central to Sam's work, weaving tales of Mr Doodle's adventures, his encounters with his nefarious twin Mas (also known as Dr Scribble), and the Anti-Doodle Squad who thwart his grand ambition to cover the globe in his doodles.

The Holburne Museum's latest exhibition features the whimsical art of Mr Doodle, known for his spontaneous and sprawling doodle creations. The museum's permanent collection will temporarily host doodle interventions, where a selection of paintings and decorative objects will be replaced with Mr Doodle's doodled canvases and 3-D sculptures that draw inspiration from their historical counterparts.

These innovative pieces aim to spark a conversation between the museum's traditional works and Mr Doodle's modern drawing style, offering visitors a fresh perspective on the art. In addition to the main exhibits, doodles will surprise guests in various nooks of the museum, including the lift and cafe windows.

Extending beyond the museum walls, Mr Doodle's art will also animate Bath's cityscape, with new site-specific works adorning Milsom Street and Union Street, as well as phone boxes, benches, and overhead banners.

Dr Chris Stephens, Director of the Holburne Museum, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "At the Holburne we are working hard to present a wide and diverse range of artistic practice and I am delighted to be the first museum in the country to present the extraordinary world of Mr Doodle."
