Casey Major-Bunce, the influencer behind Major Mum Hacks, shared the perfect tip ahead of the summer holidays for any families hoping for some peaceful car rides to their holiday destinations. The Portsmouth mum candidly shared her £2 trick for keeping her young ones entertained, and safe, during travel.

Stopping by B&Q, the mum grabbed a “bath storage net” and set up the suction cups on the windows of her backseat. Placing it so the mesh bag fell just to the top of the door handle allows her children to reach in from their car seat and grab “all their favourite stuff”.

Showcasing the hack, Casey popped in a Bluey colouring book, some snack pots, a water bottle and a pair of sunglasses. Praising the hack as a “sanity saver”, she assured other parents it will keep their kids “entertained for a car journey while you keep your eyes on the road”.

Adding in the caption, the mum sympathised with other parents looking to keep their “sanity intact” during the long car journeys that summer usually holds. It was an instant hit with many of her 654,000 followers who said they were “stealing this hack” for their summer road trips.

The Bath Toy Storage Net Casey used can hold up to 2kg in weight and costs just £2 in store. Amazon also sells a similar product for £4.46.

Another quick and cheap travel hack Casey shared for parents of Lego-obsessed kids uses just a few file pocket inserts with buttons, some doubled-sided sticky tape and a file folder. The "game changer" hack does take some assembling though.

Sharing in a clip on Instagram, the Major Mum Hacks creator used the tape to stick a Lego sheet inside one side of the file folder and placed a variety of her son’s loose Lego pieces in the pocket inserts which she then clipped into the binder part of the folder. Just like that she created a Lego kit to-go that her son can use in the car or plane and makes for some quick cleanup once you get to your destination
