Mystery player from West Midlands wins huge jackpot on National Lottery

A mystery player has won more than £220,000 on The National Lottery, it has been announced. The man, only known as Mr H, matched five main numbers and one lucky star in the EuroMillions draw on Friday, May 24.

The man, from Shropshire, plans to save the £226,335 in winnings for the future. He played a personal selection of sentimental numbers via the National Lottery app.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: "What lovely news for Mr H, after landing this incredible prize on EuroMillions. We hope he enjoys whatever he uses his new savings pot for in the future. Huge congratulations."

He is the latest player from the region to strike lucky on The National Lottery. In May, it was announced that a mystery player had won a whopping £500,000.

They bought the ticket on the outskirts of Birmingham just before Christmas. However the prize had yet to be collected when announced in May.
