Neighbours shares behind-the-scenes look at Terese's cliffhanger scene

Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours ended 2021 with a dramatic cliffhanger, as Terese Willis was seen barely holding onto the edge of the Lassiters roof.

If you were wondering how that scene was filmed, the Australian soap has offered a behind-the-scenes look – and it involved some green screen and a crew member holding a fan in Rebekah Elmaloglou's direction.

"It's a big storyline... let's put it this way, it's a matter of life or death for Terese," Rebekah teased in the Instagram video.

Fortunately, the star wasn't forced to dangle from a tall building. Instead, she leaned on a huge box positioned at a more manageable angle.

It remains to be seen what happens next on the show and whether Terese survives unscathed.

What we do know is that, in a first-look promo for 2022, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) is furious at Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) for not doing enough to help Terese.

Harlow was the only other person on the rooftop after she insisted on giving Terese the PI report on Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett).

Interestingly, the end of the 2022 trailer prominently features the words "Someone will die", before showing a funeral taking place.

We don't know whose funeral it is, but we do get a glimpse of a vicious storm hitting Erinsborough, leaving many of the residents in danger.

When the show returns on Monday, January 3, it won't be long before the UK moves ahead of Australia as 10 Peach looks to continue its schedule of four episodes a week.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
