Now that Netflix's gripping teen survival drama The Society is over, we've found a new young adult series to get stuck into called Trinkets, adapted from the YA novel by Kirsten 'Kiwi' Smith of the same title.

Netflix's synopsis reads: "When three teenage girls from different corners of the high school cafeteria find themselves in the same mandated Shoplifter's Anonymous meeting, an unlikely friendship forms."

Elodie, played by Deadpool's Brianna Hildebrand, is the grieving misfit, Moe (The Flash's Kiana Madeira) is the mysterious outsider, and Tabitha (Granada Nights star Quintessa Swindell) is the imperfect picture of perfection.

All three will find strength in each other as they negotiate family issues, typical high school drama and the complicated dilemma of trying to fit in while longing to break out.

Trinkets author Kirsten - who also wrote the screenplay for teen movie classic 10 Things I Hate About You as well as Legally Blonde - also serves as co-writer and executive producer, along with Amy Andelson, and Emily Meyer. Linda Gase is the series showrunner.

Writer and executive producer Emily Meyer recently told Popsugar: "The idea for us, that you can be forever changed by the people you meet at this pivotal point in your life really resonated when we read the book.

"The characters really became each others' life raft through their shared vulnerability... it's so raw, honest, and authentic. It really speaks to this exact moment in high school."

We can't wait.

Trinkets will be available to stream on Netflix on June 14.
