Anne Hathaway To Stick With Short Hair

Anne Hathaway has revealed that despite her drastic haircut, where she chopped off all her locks for her latest role 'Les Miserables', she actually “quite likes having short hair”.

The actress, who has been spotted sporting her arm in a sling since a minor accident, had to cut her hair to play prostitute Fantine – who cuts off her locks to buy food for her daughter Cosette.

It was a style far-removed from her sexy tresses that she donned for her role as latex-clad Catwoman but it was all necessary.

“I did it for a film, so it wasn't really about me, and my security,” Anne explained to New York magazine's Vulture blog.

She added: "I'm just so pleased with how I look, so I now quite like having short hair."

Having her hair chopped off wasn't the most off Anne's worries, as she actually recalled the nerve-wracking moment when she had to sing the iconic 'I Dreamed A Dream' live on set.

"Well, that's actually the thing we talked about when I first came in to film. I apparently looked like I was ready to face the guillotines. They just kept telling me and the cast to ignore the iconic nature of 'Les Miz' and of the song."

The 'Dark Knight Rises' then went on to describe that she tried to sing the track like she hadn't heard it before despite her mother loving the song, and singing it.

"My mum was in the show when I was a kid. She actually covered Fantine and went on the national tour, so it was a really big part of my childhood,” she explained.

Anne's not the only actress to make a dramatic cut for a film role, as Charlize Theron was spotted earlier this week rocking a shaved head for her role in the upcoming 'Mad Max' film that's set to start shooting next month.
