Who are the Golden Buzzer acts on Britain's Got Talent 2024?

After the Golden Buzzer rules were broken last year, it feels like the judges are getting trigger happy on the ITV talent show.

Every act on Britain's Got Talent wants the Golden Buzzer as it automatically puts them through to semi-final stage.

Last year new judge Bruno Tonioli broke the rules by pushing his Golden Buzzer more than once - and this year the panel are feeling just as trigger-happy in the auditions.

Judge Amanda Holden became the first to push her Golden Buzzer in the first episode of the new series, and it wasn't long before she inspired others to do the same. Ant and Dec have already pushed their buzzer and so has Alesha Dixon.

The rules of Britain's Got Talent have always meant that all four members of the judging panel must agree to send an act through to the next round of the ITV talent show. If just one judge nixes a hopeful — they are out of the running.

But in the eighth series of BGT in 2014 the Golden Buzzer was introduced, giving the judges and hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly the chance to choose just one act to straight through to the live semi-finals.

With only one chance to push their Golden Buzzer, judges were careful to keep in reserve until they saw an audition that truly blew them away. But all rules seem to have gone out the window since Tonioli and Simon Cowell both used it twice. So who knows how many acts will get the Golden Buzzer treatment this year...

Here are all the 2024 Golden Buzzer acts so far and which judges chose to put them through.

Amanda Holden became the first BGT judge to press her Golden Buzzer a second time this year. Japanese comedian Nabe had the whole panel in stitches with his act - using his long hair to do impressions, including on of head judge Simon Cowell. This prompted Holden to hit her Golden Buzzer again and put Nabe straight through to the semi-finals.

Holden justified her decision said: "'God I love him so much, you know when you want to laugh so much you can't get enough out of me. Normally when I press my Golden Buzzer I'm in floods of tears and I give a big speech, but this made me howl, you were so funny."

Judges used to only be allowed to use their Golden Buzzer once, but since 2023, all rules seem to have gone out of the window.

Singer Taryn Charles got the latest Golden Buzzer from Bruno Tonioli for her rendition of Aretha Franklin hit (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. The judges loved her, with Amanda Holden confessing she had goosebumps. And Tonioli hit his Golden Buzzer, putting her straight through to the semi-final. He said: "I'm not bragging here, but I had the honour to meet [songwriter] Carole King. She stayed at my house. When you started, I thought 'how's she gonna do this?' You made me forget about her version. You made it so much your own with so much feeling. The colour of your voice is unique and you're a very, very, very special person, my darling."

But Charles has sparked yet another BGT 'fix' row, as despite working as a music therapist and teacher for children with special educational needs, she is also a professional singer and has starred in stage show The History of Soul, touring the UK performing hits by Aretha Franklin and others. And Charles, 39, revealed she has previously met head judge Simon Cowell.

Simon Cowell can be difficult to impress. But he was moved to hit his Golden Buzzer in the third episode of this year's BGT auditions after seeing Japanese dance troupe CyberAgent Legit perform. Cowell said the professional dancers were the "kind of act you want in a competition."

CyberAgent Legit are made up of 20 members aged between 20 and 28 and their acts is a mixture of acrobatics, break dancing, and they even do the robot. The group were formed through Japanese professional dance league called D.League which sees teams compete against one another for the audience vote.

Asked why there had entered Britain's Got Talent one member said: “We love Simon! That is why we are here... this is the biggest audition for us. Our dream is to perform around the world, if we won it would be amazing."

Cowell said their performance was: "Amazing! That was fantastic, that was my favourite act of the day actually. Really, really, really good. This is the kind of act you want in a competition, it was really so good. And I could see how much time had gone into that, everyone in this theatre was rooting for you."

But some viewers have complained that the act are automatically through to the semi-final as the show is called Britain's Got Talent and they are not British.

Singer Sydnie Christmas, 28, got the first Golden Buzzer of the series for her rendition of Tomorrow from the musical Annie - a song head judge Cowell said he was not a fan of. Judge Holden - who has herself performed in the West End - loved it.

She told Christmas: “What struck me so much about you is just how naturally funny, how warm, how brilliant your presence was the minute you walked on the stage. How you were entertaining everyone but then you brought us the most heartfelt, beautiful version of that song.”

Holden added that it was the “best version” of the song she had ever heard and hit her Golden Buzzer, causing a delighted Sydnie to fall to her knees.

But Christmas has faced a backlash from BGT viewers who complained the singer was professional, and not just a humble talent-show contestant. She trained at the D&B Academy of Performing Arts in London in 2014, has worked as a singer on cruise ships, performed in musical, had small parts in movies and even appeared in reality show Stage School.

Ssaulabi Performance Troupe perform on Britain's Got Talent.

Martial arts performance troupe Ssaulabi won the next Golden Buzzer, from hosts Ant and Dec. Though they do not take part in the judging, presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly do get one chance every series to pick their favourite act to go through, with their very own Gold Buzzer they can press from the side of the stage. Throughout series past they have often teased about pressing it before finally following through.

But when they saw the South Korean taekwondo act perform dramatic flips, somersaults an smash planks of wood with their bare hands and feet, Ant and Dec hit their Golden Buzzer right away. Donnelly exclaimed: "I've never felt so alive!" While McPartlin confessed: "Oh I feel faint, and I didn't even do anything."

Is it any wonder Ssaulabi, who are all aged between 19 and 23, declared they "love Ant and Dec."

Ravi's Dream Team

Two Golden Buzzers down in just one show, it was not expected that another one would be pressed in episode two of BGT on Sunday night. But eight-year-old Ravi Adelekan - who lives with a benign tumour in his brain stem that doctors were unable to remove through surgery - had all he judges in tears when he introduced his choir.

The choir is made up of friends, family, school teachers, medical professionals and other children living with brain tumours. They sang a heart-warming rendition of A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman.

Alesha Dixon chose to hit her Golden Buzzer and Cowell told her: "Good for you." Dixon said: "The golden buzzer is such a personal thing and I always say I can only press it when it feels right and you're such a remarkable young man."

Britain's Got Talent airs on ITV on Saturday and Sunday evenings, and streams on ITVX.
