Celebrity Big Brother's Emma Willis Didn't Have To Audition For The Voice UK Job

Emma Willis is fast developing a reputation as one of the country's most popular TV presenters, and the star has revealed that bosses at The Voice UK were so keen to snap her up that they didn't even ask her to audition.

The host, 37, will be seen alongside Marvin Humes as a replacement for Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates when the new run kicks off this weekend.

"I didn't even have a meeting with them," she recalled to Heat. "I just literally got called and asked if I wanted to do it, which I was knocked for six by because that's never happened to me before.

"You normally meet people or screen test to see what you're like together and see if it works."

Emma, who is married to McBusted singer and Birds Of A Feather actor Matt Willis, got the all-important call back in August, but had to keep her lips sealed for quite some time before an official announcement was made.

Asked if she hesitated before saying yes, she said:  "Never. There was that moment of, 'Right, are you sure? Have they asked for the right person? Are they getting me mixed up with somebody else?'

"I found out during the last week of 'Big Brother' and they said, 'You can't tell anyone.' I literally ran outside and screamed on my own in the middle of Elstree Studios."

Emma will be seen on both shows for the next couple of weeks, as the Channel 5 show's Celebrity edition continues its 13th season for most of the rest of January.

Marvin previously said of his new colleague: "I'm getting on well with Emma,” the JLS hunk told Daily Star.

"I've known her for a few years through her husband Matt, and she's interviewed my band.

"It's nice to be working together. She's one of the best, so it's great to be alongside her. It's coming together really well so I'm excited for everyone to see it."
