Dannii Minogue Was Scared She Had Cancer After Illness

Dannii Minogue has revealed how she worried if she was suffering from cancer after her hair began to fall out and her weight began to drop rapidly.

The former X Factor judge got sick shortly after the birth of her baby boy Ethan, and even though it has now been revealed that she has an under-active thyroid that left her so weak that she wasn't even able to hold her son.

In an interview with Fabulous magazine, the Aussie star, who turns 40 next week, reveals how she worried she had cancer like her sister Kylie.

"In my darkest moments I did really worry — because of family history — it could be something that serious," she said. "The last year was incredibly tough."

In a previous interview with the MailOnline, Dannii explained how she suffered in the months after giving birth to Ethan.

"My thyroid stopped working and I had appendicitis. Leading up to that I was getting thinner and thinner, and stressing because I didn’t know what it was.

"Normally you put on weight if you have an under-active thyroid. But there is a percentage of people that have it reversed. It was very hard to concentrate, you can’t sleep and I got very weak. They explain it to you as running a car without petrol."

We're glad to hear that Dannii is feeling better now though!
