There can't be many musicians out that who would say no to working with Noel Gallagher, especially those whose careers may greatly benefit from it, especially when it's for a good cause - so it's hardly surprising that Noel Gallagher is feeling somewhat let down.

The former Oasis man has been left fuming after Mumford & Sons and Ed Sheeran turned down an opportunity to play at this year's Teenage Cancer Trust concerts.

Noel has organised a week of gigs at London's Royal Albert Hall starting next Tuesday night and bands and artists including Primal Scream and Kasabian have signed up to play and help raise money for the charity.

And according to Noel, the Mumford boys and Ed initially agreed to be part of the line-up and then pulled out, leaving the singer very unimpressed indeed.

"I did most of the work last year, because I was out at festivals, so I tapped most of the bands up then," he told Shortlist magazine.

''I'd talk to Ed Sheeran and Mumford & Sons thinking, 'I'll just f***ing do the seven nights myself; what the f**k am I asking these people for?' And I got let down a lot."

He moaned that although they all said yes to his face, they then got their agent to call him and break the news that actually, they were unavailable.

"The agent will call, and their management will call and then their PR will call and say, 'Ah, they're going to be in Australia at the time.' Really? Well they never said that to me.''

But he also thinks that a class divide may have a lot to do with it and added: "What's interesting is all the working-class bands said yes straight off the bat, no f***ing inkling of when it was.

''The middle-class bands said yes and wriggled out of it. I dunno what that means, but it must mean something. It was an interesting summer."

And he hopes those bands who turned him down will come through next year because he reckons it will be "the greatest event since Woodstock.".

Do you think Mumford & Sons and Ed Sheeran were right to turn him down?
