Paul McCartney Launches Campaign For Meat Free Mondays To Help Environment

Paul McCartney has sent a plea out to fans asking them to stop eating meat on a Monday to do their bit for the environment. In a YouTube video, which the Beatle posted to coincide with the launch of the UN Climate Summit in New York, the legendary rocker called on his legion of loyal supports to join the initiative via pledge.meatfreemondays.com. The site vow, with the help of the public, to cut down the impact of cattle production on climate change and boasts a whole host of superstar supporters such as Jamie Oliver, Gwyneth Paltrow andKevin Spacey.

In the video, Macca says: "I need your help, all I want you to do is to just log in to pledge.meatfreemondays.com and pledge your support to the idea of meat-free Mondays. Please do it. We will send all these pledges to the politicians, and then they will do something about it."

Well, we did hear that Paul has been hanging out with Kanye West with a potential collaboration on the way. Although, judging by this clip Paul hasn’t decided to hang up the guitars for hip-hop for good. But it’s all for a good cause so maybe we’ll let him off, this time!
